This is a photo of my husband Shemaya Geron with his mother Rebecca Geron, nee Asher. The photo was taken in Sliven in 1925 when my husband was two years old.
His mother had a high school education and was a sophisticated woman. She was a housewife. My husband and I were born in the same town. We have known each other since we were kids. Our mothers were friends and even bathed us together. Our houses were very close to each other.
The family of my husband's parents was fairly rich. They had their own house, in which my husband's mother looked after the children by herself. My husband has one sister, Ema Geron, who is four years older than him.
