This is my father Mihail Mihaylov in military uniform during World War I. The photo was taken in Sliven in 1916. My father was a soldier in the Balkan War and World War I.
He was born in Sliven in 1891. His first name was Mishel, but during the repression against the Jews in the beginning of the 1940s he was forced by the authorities to change his name to Mihail. He studied in a high school, but he didn't graduate. He inherited from his grandfather a small factory producing socks and blouses in Sliven. When my father was 18-19 years old, they bought new machines for the factory and modernized it.
