Anna Danon's uncle Rahamim Aladjem with his wife Sterina Aladjem

This is my mother's brother with his wife, Rahamim and Sterina Aladjem. The photo was taken in Sofia in the 1910s. They moved to Israel. There he sowed a melon field. There wasn?t any drinking water there and he decided to experiment - he put in sea water to irrigate the crop. As a result there were salty water melons only. All the relatives laughed at him because he couldn't sell anything.
