Rebeca Gershon-Levi's family on a picnic in Belovo

This picture was taken on 20th June 1924 in Belovo where we were on holiday. We call this picture ?a memory from the wine feast in Racho Petrov's house?. I was just one year old at that time. My mother told me that I had fallen into a well there. I am next to the housemaid - the second from the left. My mother Sarina Avram Gershon, nee Kalef, and my father Albert Haim Gershon, are between some local villagers. We used to go on excursions out of Plovdiv every weekend. Sometimes we left on Friday evening. We traveled in drays. We went to Komatovo, Kuklino and Markovo [villages in Plovdiv region]. We passed through lovely walnut forests that unfortunately no longer exist today. We used to bring special barbeque grills with us and light a fire. My parents loved these excursions very much.
