Ignac Izsak and Jozsef Weisz in front of their stationer's shop

This is the Gloria stationer's shop on Thokoly Avenue, on the corner of Arena Avenue [today Dozsa Gyorgy Street]. Its owner, Jozsef Weisz, is standing in front of it with his uncle Ignac Izsak. Uncle Naci helped Jozsi open his own shop in 1938. He probably also contributed financially, but with professional advice for sure, since Ignac Izsak had a prospering stationer's shop and rental library not far from there, on the corner of Arena Avenue and Ajtosi Durer Street. In the Izsak family it was absolutely natural that the siblings and their children felt responsible for each other, and if it was needed, they helped each other. Ignac Izsak also got significant help ten years earlier, when he opened the shop and the rental library. His brother, my father lent him my mother's dowry. He only paid back the loan late and in small installments. Even though my parents never talked about it with me, I know that my mother sometimes blamed my father for it, but there were never any serious conflicts because of it, and my mother loved her brother-in-law and her sister-in-law.
