Bernard Knezo Schönbrun at the Maccabi Hatzair games in Uzhgorod

In 1938 or 1939, I don't exactly remember any more, games took place in Uzhgorod [today Ukraine]. At them I represented the Maccabi Hatzair Michalovce. In the picture I'm the second from left. We're standing at the start of the 1500 meter race. I reached the finish line as second, as the route was badly marked out and I ran down the wrong street. So I had to return, which delayed me. First place went to the boy standing on my right. I don't remember his name, but he was from Uzhorod.
