Bernard Knezo Schönbrun with his cousin Boriska Blauova and her daughter

This photograph was taken in the USA while visiting my cousin, Boriska Blauova (on the right in the photo), who got to the USA still before World War II. Iam in the middle, and on the left is Boriska's daughter. Still during the time of the First Republic, my mother's sister Ilonka and her husband sent their oldest daughter Boriska to America, to live with some family. Thanks to this she stayed alive. After the war my wife and I invited her to come for a visit. We drove her around Eastern Slovakia. She was overjoyed, and wept profusely when she stood in the places where she had grown up. I wasn't all the same to me either. Well, and we also were in America to visit her.
