Asaf Auerbach among children from the kibbutz

This is a photograph of me and the other children from the kibbutz. It was taken in Bet Alfa in 1929. I'm sitting on the lower right, I'm looking at Mr. Behr and hugging his daughter, Mirjam. Mirjam was roughly the same age as I. The Behr family also returned to Europe before the war, to Germany, where they had come from. I met them again in England; Mrs. Behr even took care of us for some time. After the war was over, they returned to Germany, to its eastern part, and were very politically involved. After that I didn't keep in touch with them very much.
