Albertos Beraha's neighborhood friends

This picture was taken in Thessaloniki in the 1930s.

Here you can see me (third from left) with my neighborhood friends. Some of the names I remember are David Mosse, and Saoliko, and Disos who is still around, and David is still alive too but he is blind. Saoliko was taken by the Germans.

Before the war I had loads of friends from school and I used to play with them in the neighborhood as we all lived close to each other.

The children I used to play in the neighborhood with were not only Jewish kids but Christian as well.
