This photo was taken when the Kürti brothers, my cousins, were boating down the Vah River, sometime in the 1930s. The Kürtis were very into sports. From left is Vojtech Kürti, my mother Ruzena Erdelyiova, my sister Magda Erdeliyova, and Karol Kürti. The guys were boating down the Vah River from Ruzomberok to Komarno, and they’d always stop in Piestany to visit family. They had a collapsible kayak which they’d take apart at our place and relax for a couple of days.
