Katharina Stecklmacher with a friend in a café in Tel Aviv

This is a photograph of my mother (left) Katharina Steclkmacher with her relative, Therese Stark, née Husserl. It was taken in Tel Aviv, probably in the 1970s.

Therese was a distant relative of my mother's. Her father and my mother's grandmother were siblings. Therese was born in Vienna in 1901. In 1939 they left for Columbia via Amsterdam. In 1951 they moved from Columbia to New York. In 1965 they at last returned to Vienna. She had children. We never met; the picture is from her only visit to Israel, and I don't know where and when she died.
