Julius Bondy and his wife in front of their store

This is my maternal grandfather, Julius Bondy, and his wife, Maria Bondyova, nee Buchwaldova. They produced soda water. This is the front of their house on the main square in Holic. They are sitting there along with a hairdresser who later became a very ardent fascist. My grandparents weren’t rich. My mother, Olga Neuwirthova, nee Bondyova, had tuberculosis when she was young and this illness and its treatment absorbed most of the family property. She was successfully cured in Switzerland and at Semmering, Austria.
