This is my class photo from elementary school in Ruzomberok. The photograph is from 1948 or 1949.
During the first half of the 1950s, I was actually attending school. Back then we used to go on brigades more often than to school. One time we'd go plant trees, another time we'd go shovel snow, we were always going on some sort of brigade. Always at the beginning and at the end of the school day, we had to sing the ?Song of Work.? I remember that, that was the main program. There were various meetings, activities, press summaries.
