This picture was taken in California in 1947. This is my uncle Leon Lidgi , my mother's brother, with his wife Sarah. He felt an obligation to my mother all his life, because she grew up without a father and mother, and her siblings loved her very much.
My mother had two brothers and one sister, who immigrated to the USA in 1897/8. Her brother Leon had four sons: the twins Haim and Norbert, and Marko and Albert. There is something interesting about our family - both twins took part in World War II exactly at the time when I also took part in it. One of them, Norbert, died as a pilot, without us ever meeting. But this runs in our blood, I think.
