Aunt Esther Primo's family

This is a photo of the family of my father's sister Esther with her third husband, Isak Primo, who is an Italian Jew. The photo was taken in the 1930s.

Esther had four children altogether. Two of them, Benjamen and Juliet, are on this photo and are from her third marriage. Aunt Esther's family lived at Pernik Street. When Isak became wealthier they rented a house at Bacho Kiro Street, but when the Law for the Protection of the Nation was adopted, they had to move to Strandja Street. They were forced to do so because, according to the Law, Jews had to move out of the center of Sofia. They emigrated to Israel in 1949.
