This is a photo of my aunt Reni's family with her husband Buko and their daughter Tamara. The photo was taken in the 1930s.
Aunt Reni is a step-sister of my mother from her father's second marriage. Reni and her family lived at Prince Boris I Street in the center of Sofia. Their house still exists nowadays. They had two daughters, Stela and Tamara who emigrated to Israel in 1949. When the time for their departure came, her husband Buko had a very good job with the Ministry of Trade, and this is why he and aunt Reni stayed in Sofia. Only their daughters left, and they settled in Holon. My aunt Reni was heartbroken by the separation from her children.
