This is little Veruska (Vera), Poti, my sister Jolana's daughter. She was a very pretty child. Here she's got gloves on, she's all elegant. There was seventeen years' difference between us. This photo was most likely taken in Nyirbátor. You can see that she's got the initials F.P. on her dress. They used to call her Poti, not Veruska, they called her Potike, tiny. That's Hungarian. And the F stands for Fried, her surname.
