This is the photograph of my marriage.
My husband was born on 1909 and died May 1st, 1983. His name was Alfredo Angel. He was textiles merchant. He was born and raised in Thessalonica, so did his antecessors.
When I returned back to Thessalonica after the war ended my brother Albertos was expecting me at the port of Thessalonica.
Alfredo was there too and saw me and when he returned to his house he said that the one he wanted to marry had just arrived and he would marry her [meaning me] no matter what.
We I got married on July 6th, 1946 at Cal Monastirlis. It was very difficult for me. I was crying all the time. I was thinking of my mother Rachel Karasso nee Ezrati saying what a marriage she would organize for me when I would get married.
Rabbi Molho performed the marriage. All our friends and relatives came at the wedding. From left to right: Mairy Angel nee Karasso and Alfredo Angel.
