Laura Haguel and little Vico Haguel

Laura Haguel and little Vico Haguel

In this picture you can see my mother's sister Laura Haguel and her son.

The photo was probably taken around 1930-1931, close to the White Tower of Thessalonica.

She is wearing the traditional clothes Jews were wearing at the time, it was called ‘kofta.’ You can see she is holding her little baby in her arms.

That’s my cousin Vico. Laura was married to David Haguel and they had two sons, Vico and Mony.

Unfortunately Laura and her family were taken to the concentration camps and never came back.
