The house of the Chikans in Prievidza

The house of the Chikans in Prievidza

In this picture you can see the house belonging to the Chikan family in Prievidza in the 1940s, at Piaristicka Street No. 29. On 1st June 1922, I was born in the room where the flower shop is. In the center is the front gate. The next store is the remains of the former bookshop and stationery store belonging to Bernhard Gubitsch. I took the photo. The building was torn down in the 1950s. Today the Vtacnik department store stands there.
