This photograph was taken in Skalica on 4th September 1938. I recognize Mitu Rotman, the nephew of my grandmother, who lived in Uzhorod and later became a professor at Uzhgorod University. There's aunt Nely Gellertova, nee Preisova, holding my cousin Vierka in her arms, my grandmother Helena Preisova, nee Rotmanova, (fourth from left) Mr. and Mrs. Timfold and one of their sons. They lived in Skalica and they were big farmers. One of their sons was killed in the Holocaust. His brother lives in Bratislava now.
