This is my mother-in-law Lenka Isak Behar, nee Alfandari, with my husband Jacquelen Iacob Behar as a baby. The photo was taken in Sofia in 1926. Jacquelen was born on 3rd February 1926 in Sofia. His family wasn't rich - they were workers. They weren't religious. His father entered the socialist movement right after World War I. When Jacquelen was young, he was a member of the communist youth movement. During the Holocaust his family was interned to Vratsa.
