The wedding photo of Zelma and Mois Avramov

This is the wedding picture of my aunt Zelma Avramova, nee Elazar, and Mois Avramov. It was taken in Kyustendil in the 1930s.

Mois Avramov was a textile merchant in Kyustendil. Aunt Zelma lived in Kyustendil for the longest period of time - that was my mother's and her sisters' and brother's hometown. During the internment of Jews in 1943 my aunt Zelma was sent back to Kyustendil. She and my uncle Mois loved each other very much. The deportation trains that had to leave for the death camps were then ready in Kyustendil. Aunt Zelma and Uncle Mois witnessed the threat to be sent to a concentration camp from firsthand experience. They moved to Sofia after 9th September 1944. They rented a house on Hristo Belchev Street. Later, they left for Israel with their children, Ester and Josef, in 1948.
