This is a photo of my older sister Lika Alkalai [nee Pinkas]. It was taken in Holon, Israel in 1976.
My older sister was born in Sofia in 1910. She graduated from a classical studies high-school. After that she graduated from the Faculty of Roman Language of the University of Sofia. She moved to Israel, lived in Holon and became a teacher of French. She has two children, Malka and Josif. Although she is 92 years old now she has a clear mind and vivid memories. She still remembers and recites the poems of the famous Bulgarian poets Botev and Javorov. She also expresses herself perfectly in writing. Her letters are an excellent example of style and erudition.
