This is the family of my father-in-law Israel Menahem. The photo was taken in the 1910s in Pleven after he came back from the Balkan War. The picture was taken on Purim and my mother-in-law Oro Menahem was dressed in a Jewish national costume called ?binbali?. My husband's older sister, Regina, is the first from the left, next to her is his younger sister, Rahel.
My husband's father, Israel Menahem, was an important egg merchant - he exported production wholesale to Austria. He lived in the town of Pleven. There was such a concurrence of circumstances that he went bankrupt and died. His family moved to Sofia in 1935. They rented a lodging in the town and started to work.
