Leopold and Franziska Brodmann in Israel during the 1950s

That’s my parents, as tourists, in Israel during the 1950s. I know that they enjoyed it and felt very comfortable.

My parents survived the Holocaust in Shanghai. My dad staged Viennese operettas for Chinese and Japanese audiences, and my mum opened a small Viennese café, the “Wiener Stüberl”.

After the war they returned to Vienna, but they visited Israel several times.
