Meine Großmutter Etelka Grünstein als junge Frau

Meine Großmutter mütterlicherseits, Etelka Grünstein, geborene Schwartz, kam aus dem Komitat Hajdu. Sie war mit uns in Budapest, als wir verfolgt wurden. Durch einen Verwandten namens Artur Weiss fand sie während der Deutschen Besetzung im Schweizer Konsulat Unterschlupf.

Nach dem Krieg lebte sie mit uns auf unserem Gutsbetrieb in Österreich, in Unterwaltersdorf. Sie starb meiner Erinnerung nach so Mitte oder Ende der 1960er Jahre.

The Centropa Collection at USHMM

The Centropa archive has been acquired by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC. USHMM will soon offer a Special Collections page for Centropa.
