Veronika Kosikova with her mother Alica Reitmanova

This is a picture of my mother Alica Reitmanova, nee Wassermanova, and me after the war. It was taken in Nitra in 1951. It’s a studio photo. My father, Alexander Reitman, was imprisoned and we wanted to have a picture taken for him.

My father was imprisoned several times. This time it was after the illegal emigration of his brother. Our family suffered from the persecution of Zionism. I felt it when I was expelled from a university and could not complete my university studies.
