The birth certificate of my grandfather Marko Grunwald, issued in Osijek in 1917. The name Samujlo Marko Grunwald is written on it. Until I saw this document I had never heard that my grandfather was named Samujlo. Grandfather Marko was born in 1861 in Marijanci, near Osijek. He was married to my grandmother Eleonora and they had three children: two daughters, Elza and Berta, and a son, Felix. Grandfather had a general store in Bistrinci and his wife and his daughter Berta helped him in it. He died in 1917 in Bistrinci, so I never met him.
