This is my mother's cousin from Paris, France - Patainic Rabinovici - with his wife. The grandmother from my mother's side, Basea Soifer, and his father were brothers. That's how it was in those days, before World War II, those who had financial means used to send their children to study abroad in France, to learn. And he settled there. He was an economist, an accountant. He would come to visit us in Romania every now and again. I never met his wife, she was probably French.
