Izia Antipka’s family

Aunt Feiga’s birthday in Kishinev, 1958. My mother Sarrah Antipka is sitting in the first row on the right,  I am in the upper row, the third from the left wearing a light shirt, my wife Alina is holding our son Ilia beside me. In the upper row on the left are my aunts Rachil and Feiga. Behind Rachil is her husband Musia Averbuch, Feiga is embracing her husband Marcello Iosifzon, In the second row from the right is my sister Lidia, the fourth on the right is Lidia’s mother-in-law, whose name I don't remember, holding Lidia’s daughter Inna. This is our big family that survived the war and moved to Kishinev.

We lived a good life. Our son Ilia was born in 1954. We named him after my grandfather. I earned well and was promoted to the position of a site superintendent in 1955. My wife joined the Communist Party. After about ten years of work she became chief of her laboratory, a forewoman and then a shop superintendent. We didn't have a car or a dacha, but we always spent vacations at the seashore or in a recreation center. We bought good food and clothes, often went to theaters and concerts. We celebrated birthdays and always invited our friends and relatives. We also got together with friends on Soviet holidays to go to the river bank or to a forest and have a picnic and barbecue. We didn’t celebrate Jewish holidays, but we visited our parents and my mother treated us to all kinds of delicacies: she was an excellent cook. My wife Alina was a holy person, a kind soul and we lived a beautiful life together.
