Survival in Sarajevo: Cooperation and Conflict: The History of Southeast Europe, Yugoslavia and the Arab-Israeli Conflict.

This lesson about "Europe without borders, or what color is your flag?" uses a personal narrative, a Centropa film set in today’s Romania, and an oral history interview with the film’s subject, Lazslo Nussbaum, to alert students to how varying perspectives and methodologies can affect the ways in which we can know about the past.

The goal of this lesson plan on "Post-War Jewish Life in Hungary" is to explore Jewish life in Hungary before WWII. Life in Hungary for Jews during period of the Holocaust, as well as the Communist era, will be covered briefly through Powerpoint presentation.  The two lessons will end with a discussion about contemporary Jewish life in Hungary through the use of lecture/discussion, and the aides of website, videos and publications from Jewish organizations in H

In this lesson about the "Foundations of Halacha and Aggada", Students will engage in a unit exploring various definitions of Jewish community. They will study both classical (Biblical and Rabbinic) texts and contemporary materials to consider ethical problems raised by living in community.
