Yuriy Paskevich’s maternal grandmother

This is my maternal grandmother. This is a photo of the portrait that I painted of her.

I don’t know the first name of my grandmother from Odessa, although she lived with us four years after the war. We all, including my mother, called her ‘Granny.’ Her surname was Krakovskaya after her husband; her maiden name was Dizik. She lived with my mother’s sister, but she couldn’t stay there at that time due to lack of space. I remember my Granny reading all newspapers from the first to the last page. She was very old then. She was born in the 1860s and died in 1952.
