Revekka Mexina’s brother Israil Mexin

My brother Israil Mexin - their last year at school.

In 1903 my brother Israil was born. My brother went to the cheder in Novo-Ukrainka. At 10 he went to grammar school in Cherkassy. After we moved to Elisavetgrad he went to grammar school #12. In 1920 my brother Israil finished school. At that time it was a problem for children of blue collar, parents to enter a university, as the children of proletariat had all privileges. My brother went to work at the plant "Red Star" in Kirovograd. He was a molder apprentice at first and then became a molder himself. In 1922 my brother entered the Department of Industrial Electrical equipment at the Polytechnic University in Kharkov.
