This is a very serious photo of the rehearsal of 'West side Story' by Leonard Bernstein, which was played in Bulgaria for the first time then. The premiere was in the Plovdiv Opera House. I?m conducting the orchestra and above me is the director of the performance Afeyan, a wonderful director of Armenian origin (unfortunately, I don?t remember his family name). He worked in the Sofia Opera House, but he also did guest performances in the Yerevan Opera House.
