This is a photo of the Zvanichevo [forced labor] camp, in the vicinity of Plovdiv. The man, lying in the front is my brother Nissim Benaroya. The picture was taken in 1943.
I have two brothers: Nissim Benaroya, born in 1915, and Rafael Benaroya, born in 1928. Rafael used to work for the Boyana Film Center and Nissim was a hat maker. During the war he was in forced labor in Zvanichevo. After the war he went to Israel, where he worked as builder.
