This is a picture of me and my husband, Haim Buko Levi, taken in Kazanlak in 1953.
I married Haim Buko Levi in Sofia in 1953. My husband graduated from the Svishtov University in Economy, then he studied Law at Sofia University but he didn't graduate. He was a journalist, his main interests were in economics. He worked with different newspapers - the daily 'Trud' [Labor], biweekly 'Evreiski Vesti' [Jewish News] as well as the weekly 'Ikonomicheski Zhivot' [Economic Life] from where he retired and received his pension. His political ideas were the same as mine - he was a communist, a socialist. In 1952 our friendship and love began, in 1953 we got married in a civil ceremony.
