Lazar Senderovich Futoryan

This is my father Lazar Senderovich Futoryan., who was born in Kiev in 1906.

He was a chemist, a graduate of the State Institute of Applied Chemistry in Leningrad. In Kiev he met my mother, Broha Yasnogorodskaya, and they got married.

I was born in 1932. My father took part in three military campaigns in World War II: the invasion of Poland, the Finnish War, and the advance from Stalingrad to Berlin.

This photo was taken in 1939 in the airport in Warsaw, where he served during the Polish campaign as a meteorologist.

Before the war he worked in a workshop that made vanilla. After the end of World War II he and my mother divorced and Father left for Moscow where he worked in a chemical enterprise. He retired at the age of 48.
