My great grandparents. My great-grandmother Cili, Cecilia Rosenthal, was a great beauty even at the age of 92. She had beautiful blue eyes and white hair, and her hands were soft and warm ? and out of vanity she said she was younger than she actually was. She knocked a few years off her age. Because only when she passed away did it turn out that she was already 92, not 90. She was the heart and soul of the family. She had a good sense of humor too.
Granny Cili's husband was Beno Fogel. At the beginning, they were miserably poor. But by the time I was born, they owned a house and a small store in Megyesegyhaza; later a tavern, too. Fourteen children were born to them and nine lived to adulthood. Of the nine, three were boys.
