Dusanka's mother and uncle

Mother had a brother Andrija and father had a sister. He was apothecary, died in Auschwitz 1944. This picture was taken in my grandparent’s house in Senta. The house of my grandparents was divine. It was big, two bedrooms. There was a living room, a salon, a dining room and a big hall. Grandmother's house was nice. Actually, ours was bigger but grandmother's house was nicer. The house was heated by tile stoves which worked on wood. It was wonderful. They had two servants.

My mother, Tereza Hacker, was born in Senta, also, in 1895. In general she did not work. We had two girls working in our house, a cook and a maid. She would wake up in the morning and start from the beginning of the day to dress up. Than a tailor would come to make the new dresses. At home mother, played, read, guests came and she went to visit her friends, they made little parties in their houses. Both my mother and my aunt-Andrija's wife-they all lived well. They traveled a lot; they went to Paris, Prague, Egypt, Berlin, every year they went to Karlovy Vari.
