This is my aunt, Bela Lewin with her grandson, Oles. I think this informal, family snapshot was taken in Bela’s apartment in Warsaw, in the 1930s.
Aunt Bela was the wife of my maternal grandfather’s brother Marym. They had four children. Marym died before World War II and Bela was killed during the Holocaust.
The Centropa archive has been acquired by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC.
