Professional development seminar in Budapest, Hungary

From May 11 to May 13, we welcomed educators from European Jewish schools and Israel for a 3-day seminar focused on Jewish education and Holocaust history, with a special emphasis on Jewish women’s stories. 30 fellow educators from 15 countries used Centropa materials to discover innovative ways to integrate 20th-century Jewish history and personal narratives into their teaching, and built lasting professional partnerships.

Program highlights included:

  • Exploring Budapest's Jewish Heritage, its past and present
  • Diving into the HerStories Project, featuring personal narratives of Jewish women from Hungary, Germany, Poland, Greece, Spain, Slovakia, and Poland, and engaging with the accompanying teaching materials
  • Collaborating with other educators to create new educational materials
