In 1956 our son Efim was born. We were still living in that same room. My husband was supposed to be allotted an apartment, but in 1961 my mother died. The authorities told us that we couldn’t get an apartment, as there were [only] four of us left. We received an apartment in 1963, when my daughter was 14 and my son –7 years old.
