I’d like to add that in 1940 Mom had entered the Institute of Foreign Languages, but she only finished the first year and was forced to quit her studies when the war began. The war prevented both of my  parents from receiving a higher education, and their only dream was for their children to obtain a higher education. They put all their efforts into fulfilling this goal.
