Each Komsomol leader was to write down how many Germans he had already killed. Of course, it was impossible to give accurate numbers and we made guesses. Later, after the Stalingrad Battle [25], when Marshal Zhukov [26] became commander, he said this was nonsense and there could be no socialist obligations in the army. He put an end to this stupidity.
