Nina graduated from the Philological Faculty of Odessa University and married Yefim Patlazhan. They had a daughter named Lena. Upon graduation from the Historical Faculty of Odessa University he defended his candidate of sciences dissertation and then a doctor's one [see Soviet/Russian doctorate degrees] [4], and was appointed chief of department in the Ivano-Frankovsk Pedagogical College. Nina worked there as a school teacher.
