In July 1944, when the Russians had come as far as I think Baranow, fierce battles were fought there between the Germans and the Russians, because there it was Polish territory, so they packed us off in a transport and off we went. Transport, but no idea where to. Packing up? We aren't packing up. We didn't have anything to pack. Wagons were put on, those cattle ones, naturally.
