REACT connects intergenerational memory, youth activism, education and artistic reflection to confront antisemitism, strengthen Jewish identity and promote an inclusive European culture of remembrance. In a time of rising antisemitism, historical distortion and growing distance from the Holocaust, the project revitalizes Jewish memory and life through storytelling, dialogue and creativity.
Grounded in oral history and intergenerational exchange, REACT records new interviews with descendants of Holocaust survivors across Europe, exploring how inherited memories shapeJewish identity and resilience today. Drawing on these testimonies, educators collaboratively develop pedagogical materials that bring personal and intergenerational perspectives into the classroom and connect historical experiences with contemporary questions. Young Jewish activists turn personal narratives into campaigns, and the project culminates in performances and exhibitions that make Jewish life visible in shared European spaces.
REACT is coordinated by Centropa and runs from October 2026 to October 2028 with support from the European Union.
