The picture was taken in 1935 on Slano Island at the end of Dubrovnik, Croatia. I am fifth from the right. I was a member of the Sokol Society, a non-Jewish sports society. The president of the society was King Petar Karadjordjevic. With members of the society, I went on trips, summer vacations and various gymnastics competitions. The girls wore uniforms: light brown dresses with red collars and the Sokol society's emblem on the left shoulder.
