Siima Shkop with her classmates

This is the graduation class of Tallinn Jewish lyceum. The picture was taken in Tallinn in 1938. Samuel Gourin, the principal, is sitting in the center in the 1st row. Our headmaster, Estonian teacher Velder, is to his right, and to the left is the German teacher, Vilenskaya. I had known her from Tartu Jewish school. Redi Strazh, the 1st to the left, survived the Holocaust in Tallinn. She died several years ago. 2nd row from left to right: Aranovich, he was killed by Germans in Tallinn. Fanya Gleizer, standing to his right, perished during the Holocaust along with her entire family. I do not want to name the next classmate. At that time he was my boyfriend and I was sure that we would get married. At the beginning of the war, he was in the lines in the vicinity of Leningrad. He was an interpreter, then a reconnoiterer. When he came back, he married my friend and they left for Israel. The next one is Lereman. Shortly after graduation from the lyceum, he and his family left for Israel. I am next to Geyman. I do not remember the surname of the guy who is to the right from me. I know, he left for Israel. Markovich is the 1st to the left in the 3rd row. He was a friend of my husband Victor. Markovich introduced us to each other. I cannot recall the next one, the 3rd to the left is Fillip Brin. He and his family were deported to Siberia in 1941. The 4th to the left is also living in Israel. I cannot recall his name.
